Every leather goods manufacturer has its own iconic bag. Ours has the particularity of being the direct descendant of the most emblematic leather piece ever signed by Le Tanneur: the Sans Couture coin purse. A piece created in 1898 and awarded a medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris two years later.
What is special about this iconic purse? It is the result of a unique folding process mounted on rivets. The Sans Couture line has since expanded, including the 1898 bag, another of the house's flagship pieces. Its idea: to preserve the prestige of its heritage and embody all the values of the house, including French manufacturing, which is particularly important to us.
The Sans Couture line is distinguished - as you will have understood - by this specific and historic assembly of the House of Le Tanneur, but also by the subtlety of its details. Note its elegant engraved clasp, its feminine and modern metal parts or its suede leather lining.
The Sans Couture bag has an adjustable shoulder strap and a handle, both removable, for hand, cross-body or shoulder carrying. Its full grain cowhide leather with clean edges and velvet interior are the common points with the other pieces in the line.
You are looking at a leather and a model which, over the seasons, has become one of our favourite mediums of expression, so much so that we like to play with house colours, patterns and other inspired prints.
Alongside our 1898 Sans Couture bag is a smaller flap pouch, but with equally fine and similar features and details. Our Sans Couture purse is still designed in our workshops, and you can find it in a unique box, accompanied by a miniature Sans Couture key ring.
The words that best characterise this line: iconic, know-how, made in France.
